MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY REVS UP PRE-SEASON THUNDER WITH INDOOR CAR SHOW

March 27, 2010

OR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WINONA, MN (March 27, 2010) – After a long frigid winter, there's no better sign of the approaching warmth of late spring and the clear blue skies and sunshine of summer . . . than an annual Pre-Season car show for a local race track!

Saturday Morning, March 27th, MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY owners Tom & Tina Lockner and Bob & Paula Timm along with the staff of Sugar Loaf Ford of Winona invited the public into the warmth of the Sugar Loaf Ford Service Center Garage Area to view over 20 cars scheduled to hit high speeds during the 2010 season at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY.

"We really are happy with the turnout today," said Bob Timm during a radio interview on Winona Radio's KG 95.3 FM, "We have some great looking cars, from every division that will be competing at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY through the season, on display here at Sugar Loaf Ford.

"The car owners have done a great job getting these cars ready for the season, and for today," continued Timm, "and I think events like this are always a great way for not only the 'hard core race fan' to come check out some of the cars for the new season; but also for the casual fan, or even someone who maybe has never even seen a dirt track stock car up close, to come take a look a the machinery, maybe talk with some of the drivers or speedway personnel and just, you know, get a quick introduction to the sport."

With Free hot dogs and soda pop, compliments of Hy-Vee of Winona and the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Winona, the atmosphere was perfect as a 'scene setter' of things to come throughout the sophomore season of dirt track action at the fast 3/8 Mile located in Fountain City, Wisconsin.

Drivers, Car Owners and Pit Crew Members mingled with family, friends, fans, and those simply curious to get an up-close look at these speed machines. The cars on display ranged in style and size from the five Mini-Mods just inside the main entrance to the Sugar Loaf Ford of Winona Service Area, to a couple 600 Mods, 4 WISSOTA Street Stocks, a WISSOTA Super Stock, a few each of the USRA B-Mods and USRA A-Modifieds, as well as a couple of WISSOTA Late Models.

Additionally on display, for it's first public viewing, was the all-new Napa Auto Parts of Winona - Lou Fegers Racing Equipment MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY two-seater Modified! This two-seater is sure to be a crowd pleaser this year as each race night two lucky fans will be chosen from a raffle-style drawing contest to strap into the 'passenger seat' of this full-fledged race-ready USRA A-Modified for three edge-of-their-seat laps around MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY - at full speed!!

As is always the case when racers get together (away from the track and the competition of race night - that is) the mood was light and jovial with talk ranging from new rules (or rule changes) for the 2010 season, to a look back at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY's inaugural season in 2009, to any and all rumors which might have been over heard leading up to 2010 season.

But all seemed to agree that if the cars on display were any indication of the quality of machinery that will be found on the track through the 2010 season at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY, the competition will be strong and the fans will enjoy the action!

The next event on the 2010 MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY calendar is an Open Practice Session (which is open to the public for viewing - free of charge) on Wednesday April 14th, followed just two-days later by the Official 2010 Season Opener, on Friday April 16th, presented by Graphic Image of Fountain City!

So prepare yourself for a summer full of top-speed action as the 2010 racing season approaches . . . the cars are ready, the drivers are ready, the track is ready - now it's up to you to get ready to FEEL THE THUNDER!!
