MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY prepares to unleash The NAPA AUTO PARTS, LOU FEGER'S RACING EQUIPMENT Two-Seater!

March 31, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WINONA, MN (March 31, 2010) - Since it's grand opening in the spring of 2009, the main motto of MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY has been to invite the public to one of the fastest 3/8 Mile dirt tracks in the upper mid-west in order to "FEEL THE THUNDER".

With the grandstands located just a few steps away from the front straight away, the spectators could experience that THUNDER as a pack of racers ROARED out of turn four, SCREAMED down the front straight and then BELLOWED their way into turn one.

The proximity of the fan to the high-speed racing has always allowed them to feel a bit 'closer' to the action - to experience the raw power on a bit more 'personal' level . . . in other words, they could "FEEL THE THUNDER".

But for 2010, MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY owners Bob & Paula Timm and Tom & Tina Lockner are taking that 'fan experience' to a whole new level. Today, MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY is pleased to present:

THE ALL-NEW NAPA AUTO PARTS OF WINONA - LOU FEGERS RACING EQUIPMENT MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY TWO-SEATER MODIFIED

This is a mission that will, for the first time in the area, take the fan out of the grand stands, put them inside a full-fledged racing machine, and allow them to experience what it's like to LITERALLY "FEEL THE THUNDER"!!

Can you believe this? Never, does a fan of any other sport have the opportunity like this, to experience exactly what it's like for the stars whom they root for on a weekly basis. Now, the fans have the ability to experience the speed first hand, experience the thrill of sliding through the turns on the edge of control, experience the rush as the car hurls itself out of the corner onto the straight - with the concrete retaining wall approaching at mind numbing speed, and then zipping past in a blur.

And this experience will not be taking place on a quiet 'off night' either; the track will be prepped in exactly the same manner as the actual competitors have been experiencing that very race night. The grand stands will be full of cheering fans, the infield will be populated with media, photographers and speedway officials.

And the car itself is no tamed-down, back-of-the-pack copy. This is an actual Lou Fegers Racing Equipment modified that could compete with the fastest on any given race night.

THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!!!

The car actually started out as an on-track competitive Lou Fegers A-Mod that MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY owner Bob Timm actually drove to several feature wins in 2004!!

The car was then sold and was eventually driven by local racer Eric Kanz, and saw on-track action as recently as the 2009 season! In the winter of 2009 - 2010, the car was re-purchased from Kanz and then sent back to Lou Fegers Racing equipment for a total ground-up race-ready rebuild.

The front stub (in front of the driver compartment forward - containing the engine compartment and front suspension) and the driver's cage area are remaining portions of that original feature winning race car.

The interior portion of the car was widened a bit to support a fully rebuilt passenger side roll cage and racing seat to insure the safety of the passenger. A complete race ready five-point racing harness will keep the passenger safely strapped into the seat as they experience laps around the track at competitive speeds.

"You see," says Timm, "this is not some typical 'gimmick 2-seater' with an old b-mod motor or some old truck motor borrowed from a local salvage yard. We really wanted to ensure that the riders got as close to a full experience of being in an "A" mod as possible.

"This is the real deal." Continues Timm, "We purchased a full roller 360 cubic inch Alcohol burning "A" Mod race motor to launch this thing around the speedway."

Every week MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY will be giving two (2) three-lap rides to two (2) different lucky fans.

One winner's ride will be selected from a raffle by purchasing a $2 raffle ticket at the speedway.

The second winner's ride will be awarded to the winner of a silent auction to be held during the evening of racing.

And, in order to make the passenger feel even closer to the REAL COMPETITION that they see on the track each and every week, the driver of the two-seater will change from week to week; the evening's driver (or drivers) will be selected from competent local drivers and will be announced at the beginning of the evening. We hope to give everybody an opportunity to get a ride with some of the most popular and successful drivers in our area.

So for all those nights you have sat in the grand stands and thought, "I wonder what it is REALLY LIKE to be in that car, racing at speed around this track?" . . . well, now you can find out, you can face the high speed, you can hear the rumble of the engine, you can experience the g-forces as the car is slung into the turn at top speed; in other words you can

"FEEL THE THUNDER"
